Breakfast will be served at the city hotel; thereafter our concierge team or your tour leader taking you through the highlights of the adventures ahead will do a pre safari briefing. Thereafter, you will proceed to the Giraffe Centre located in the Karen area next to Giraffe Manor Hotel. The Giraffe Centre is a popular tourist attraction located in Nairobi, Kenya. It is home to a herd of Rothschild’s giraffes, a subspecies known for their long necks and dark patches on their legs. Jock Leslie Melville, a renowned conservationist and artist, established the Giraffe Centre in 1979. Melville’s passion for giraffes led him to create a sanctuary where these magnificent animals would thrive in a protected environment. At the time of inception, there were only 130 Rothschild giraffes in the wild. With the help of the breeding at the Giraffe Centre, the population is around 500. You will have an opportunity to get up close and personal with the giraffes by feeding them from elevated platforms. This unique experience allows for a close encounter with these gentle giants.
